The city of Boise defines sustainability as living or acting in a manner that improves our quality of life, promotes a strong economy, and conserves our natural resources. Since 1998, over 40 businesses have been honored with an EnviroGuard Sustainability Awards (formerly the EnviroGuard Pollution Prevention Awards).
Vision Statement: recognizes and celebrates Boise businesses, non-profits, and individuals for their innovation and commitment to environmental and economic sustainability.
Mission Statement: EnviroGuard Sustainability Awards recognize Boise businesses, organizations and individuals who are reducing their environmental footprint. These entities are committed to preserving and protecting natural resources and our quality of life and ensuring Boise remains one of the most livable cities in the nation. We have two types of awards:
Eligibility: Eligible businesses must be located in Boise City or the impact area, have been established for at least one (1) year, have no pending environmental enforcement actions, and be in good standing with the city of Boise. Past award winners may reapply for the award with new or expanded efforts.
Evaluation: Staff will review all Business Award applications. Finalists will be interviewed and subject to an onsite assessment. Applications and staff reports will be evaluated and scored by an independent committee. The decision of the Mayor and Council is final. The city of Boise reserves the right to forego an award if no entry meets the minimum requirements.
Applications are accepted throughout the year.
